With a 100 watts and a dipole you too can travel the world from the comfort of your hamshack. In this class we’ll explore the world of DXing including the various modes to use, how to confirm the contacts and the various awards available for collecting the different countries and other entities. The tools available to find out who is on the air and where to find them on the dial will be discussed. We'll also describe strategies for contacting DXpeditions to add those rare ones to your log. We’ll listen to some actual contacts and explore the importance of learning to operate split on your radio. Digital modes like FT8 have made DXing accessible for modest stations so we'll discuss how to use those too.
